As the season progresses, the veins in the leaf become darker creating a more dramatic effect. 'Pastel' turns to a bright red to deep maroon in the fall. 'Pastel' is a newer selection recently introduced by Talon Buchholz. 'Pastel' is expected to reach 10 ft in height in 10 years.
